Mainly Music
We run the well known and very popular Mainly Music programme, and have been since 2001. Mainly Music is a community group for parents/caregivers and their pre-schoolers, run to a standard format as set out by www.mainlymusic.org.nz.
You and your pre-schooler will enjoy a 30 minute music and movement session and a morning tea and play time. We run our two sessions on Tuesday morning with the morning tea time in-between. Warm muffins and tea and coffee are provided, and the children have a variety of puzzles and play equipment to use.

Held in the church foyer and Marsden Centre the cost is only $3 per family to attend. We’d love to see you at Mainly Music so please contact the church office if you are interested. Note we are currently operating a waiting list.
Creche
Creche is available during the Sunday morning 10am service. Your pre-schoolers will be cared for in their very own programme while adults are in the church service.
One exciting addition to our childrens’ facilities is a fully fenced, safe, specially designed playground.
Little Church
Little Church specifically caters for the needs of the 2½ - 5 year old age group during the Sunday 10am Service. Currently a small group of children, we aim to help kids make the transition from Creche to Sunday school (KFC).
Program
Kids enjoy an initial free playtime at the beginning that allows the children to settle in as they arrive. Then we all get active with a short worship and praise time, with singing and action songs to music followed by a bible lesson.

Each week we have craft and colouring activities, which relate to the topic of the day, this also enables parents to see what their children have been learning.
For more information
New children are welcome to join at any time, for more information contact the St. Stephen's office.
Sunday Morning Kids Program (KFC)
KFC stands for 'Kids For Christ'. This group is aimed at children 5-12 years old (years 1-8 at school). We meet together for singing, notices, the competition update, and a time to recite memory verses from the previous week. We then split into two main groups for learning the week's memory verse and a teaching session. We then discuss the teaching and apply it at the appropriate level. The younger group caters for 5-8 year olds (Years 1-4 at school) and they are called 'Lil' Lambs'. The older group caters for 9-12 year olds (Years 5-8 at school) and they are called 'Big Sheep'. On average there are around 30 children with a good leader to student ratio.
Program
* Singing and music, notices, competition updates, memory verse recitals * Drama * Memory verse * Teaching - sometimes assisted with video or DVD - and small group discussion
Topics
Previous programs have focused on topics like ‘Metamorphosis’ (Romans 12:2). One called ‘Flipped’ looked at how the lives of Bible characters were flipped when they met Jesus.
This year (2008) we have begun a three-year curriculum cycle with the aim of giving the children a sound overview of the Bible.
