Cameo
CAMEO - Come And Meet Each Other. This is precisely what our group of approximately 15 older women do on the last Saturday of each month. You are most welcome to come and fellowship with us at 2pm in the church foyer. Usually we have a guest speaker followed by afternoon tea and a bring buy.
Speakers to the group have presented on topics such as travel, overseas work experience, painting, doll collecting, music and genealogy.
For more information Please contact the church office.
Combined Fellowship Group
This is a group of men and women who meet each 2nd Tuesday of each month at 2pm in the foyer of the church. Our aim is to provide fellowship and support and also to unite in prayer for the church, each other and the wider community. We have been entertained and informed by speakers on a great variety of subjects. We have a few outings each year which are enjoyed by all.
We welcome visitors or newcomers to any of our meetings.
Senior Care
St Stephen's has a very dedicated team of about ten people who take an interest in the welfare of the older members of the Parish. The AAW (Association of Anglican Women) and the Combined Fellowship Group are amazing at looking after their members. With these groups and the individual visits by people we are able to ensure that if the need arises we are able to visit. We have a telephone ministry which means we check up on folk to make sure they are okay. It is important to care for folk who have been contributors to our Parish life, even though their health makes it too difficult to come to services or groups anymore.
Churchill Courts
We have had a long standing relationship with Churchill Courts, Anglican Aged Care rest home and hospital care for the elderly. In conjunction with Anglican Aged Care we provide a part time chaplain Rev Ivan Jones who ministers to the spiritual needs of the elderly. A weekly 10.45am service is held at the Churchill Courts chapel by our lay ministers and Vic Smith holds a communion service for residents in the Bush Wing, a secure dementure wing, on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 10am. In addition to these services, there are a number of committed parishioners who express love to the residents through visiting.
