St. Stephen's Association of Anglican Women (A.A.W.)

We are a women's fellowship group with a a varied programme of speakers and activities.

We meet on the first Tuesday evening of the month at 7:30pm. We also host a luncheon in a member's home on the third Tuesday of each month.

The evening usually begins with a short worship service which reinforces the aim of the A.A.W. which is "to unite in prayer and to participate in the mission of the church, and to promote and safeguard Christian family life."

Our main fund-raising each year is for the Overseas & Outreach area of AAW and we traditionally hold a coffee & dessert evening, inviting husbands and friends.

Outreach activities have included creating Christmas gifts for Walsh House, baking and visiting members who are sick or in need. We are also  involved in the church life as lay ministers, on sanctuary guild, church cleaning and hospitality rosters, involved in the Senior Parishioners' Christmas morning tea, helping with catering and flowers for funerals, making muffins for Mainly Music morning teas, and the Cathedral Christmas tree roster. We are also involved with the annual World Day of Prayer service held in March.

This is a strong and happy group playing a vital role in the Parish's life. New members are very welcome to join us.

Monday Evening Women’s Group (MEGS)

We are a friendship and fellowship group for women of all ages. Meetings are normally a presentation from a guest speaker and conclude with supper and time to chat. We meet on the third Monday of each month at 7:30pm.

Events
Past events include speaker presentations of overseas missionaries from Bolivia, Zimbabwe and Egypt. We've also heard from a lady who shared about her time fostering children and work reaching out to kids in the Linwood area, with the God’s Warriors boys club. We've also organised a visit to a local Christian bookshop.
